Polyacrylamide, also known as PAM, is a glassy solid. It is easy to absorb water, and the speed of absorption varies with the characteristics of derivative ions. Polyacrylamide is soluble in water, acetic acid, glycol, glycerin, amine and other organic solvents. Decomposition temperature is above 200 ℃ after long-term heating. The black powder was carbonized at 210 ℃ without oxygen.
According to the need, polyacrylamide can be processed from non-ionic to anionic, cationic and mixed anions to form four types of products.
Application: polyacrylamide is an important water-soluble polymer, and has valuable properties such as flocculation, thickening, shearing, resistance reduction and dispersion. These properties are different with different derivative ions. Therefore, it is widely used in oil production, mineral processing, metallurgy, chemical industry, paper making, textile, sugar making, medicine, environmental protection, building materials, agricultural production and other departments.
Storage, transportation and precautions: polyacrylamide itself is not toxic. Only when the inhalation amount is more than five thousandths, it is harmful because the absorption of nutrition by the stomach and intestines is blocked. The residual acrylamide monomer in polyacrylamide is toxic, so the application of food should be strictly controlled. Pay attention to dampproof during storage and transportation.
